  2. Fill out the application and send it to:

  3. Wait for your name to be added to the weatherization list. It can take up to two years for your home to be weatherized.

Section 504 Home Repair Program

The Section 504 Home Repair Program provides financial help to very-low-income homeowners to fix, improve, or modernize their homes, or remove health and safety hazards. This program is managed by USDA Rural Development.

To qualify, you must meet these criteria:

  • Be the homeowner and live in the house needing repairs.
  • Unable to get affordable credit elsewhere.
  • Have a household income below the program's very low limit.
  • If you're 62 or older, you can qualify for grants specifically for seniors.

Grants can be used for various purposes, such as fixing or improving homes, and removing health and safety hazards.

Single-Family Housing Repair Loans and Grants

The USDA offers the Section 504 Home Repair Program, providing loans and grants to help with home repairs, improvements, and modernization.
